[After a couple days of absence, Litchi is back from her short trip home. And, as always with her, it's a bath tub that she's landed in. One Yellow Thirteen's bath tub, to be precise. And she's not in the best shape.

Resounding not only through the apartment, but over the journals, is the sound of the tub cracking as if under a tremendous amount of pressure. Litchi lets out a pained whimper, curling into a ball as best she can despite one arm being tangled in the shower curtain.

The Boundary has cut loose. And Litchi is absolutely terrified.

The journal picks up another quiet groan before she falls silent.]

[Litchi won't get a straight answer from him, startled such that he is that she's even there. Of course, with Goroh, his startled expression is mostly an eyebrow being raised.]

Didn't you go home? [So why are you back?]

[Just as planned.]

[She answers with a weak laugh, crossing the room to stand closer to him. Her exhaustion is clear -- she's drooping all over from tiredness.]

I did. But I suppose the Malnosso decided to bring me right back.

How are your wounds? There's not too much pain, is there?

[You're a horrible doctor]

[He can tell, but dammit, he's the injured one here. Not you. And yet...]

I'm fine. McCoy's had a look at me and I've had my magic healing session too. Just gotta take it easy on this here arm. [He moves his left arm a bit. The bone has been set and healed, but it's still sore and could break again easily.]

[It's cool, now you'll match Tsubaki.]

[Small sigh of relief. At least the damage wasn't as bad as she was expecting.]

I'll have to thank him later.

[And her words are echoing again. She gently pinches the bridge of her nose below her glasses, trying to keep her focus.]

I'm just glad to hear you're alright. With how much damage the building suffered, I was so worried...

[They won't match until Tsubaki dies too]

Of course you were. [He gets to his feet and stands.]

But what about you? Fine day for you to come back. Did you get here before the theatrics or after?

[Does it have to be while protecting Goroh?]

Hmm. Just a couple hours before. In a bath tub, of course.

[Wry smile.] It's nice to know some things never change.

[Yeah, it kinda figures that would happen.]

Wasn't even my bath tub. A damn shame. I would've been in at the time.

[The dust on her face manages to hide the fact that she's blushing a bit over that.]

No, it was David's. And before you ask, no, he wasn't in it.

Poor Dave. That must have been disappointing for him. [But now he grows serious.] So how long were you back home for?

It... really wasn't long. Hardly a week.

[Her expression is a little distant.] I think something strange must be happening back home. Tao told me Ragna, Miss Vermillion, and Bang all have disappeared as well.

[Although what that something strange would be, she's not sure. She was a little too preoccupied with her own problems to notice.]

I haven't heard from Bang... but last I checked, when I heard you were gone, his apartment still had stuff in it. [Shame about his door. Good thing the quake destroyed the evidence of vandalism.] You weren't gone but a few days here.

I have to admit, I'd been wondering about that. It seemed like it should have been much longer, with how much has happened already since I got back.

[But the mention of Bang makes her pause for a moment. If his things have been left untouched, then that makes it more likely that he's with the Malnosso rather than back home. And she's not all that sure if that's better or worse. Although it is a little confusing. The last she saw Bang, he was standing in her clinic in Orient Town.]

...You actually checked in on Bang?

[Goroh chuckles at that. Just a bit.]

Just wanted to make sure you didn't do something stupid and move in with him.

Now, why would I do that?

[Her words might be calm, but her shoulders and wings have tensed up.]

You're not exactly known for your good judgment, Litchi. You're talking to me, right?

["You haven't exactly got the best judgment--" ... "Doc, you really shouldn't be so nice all the time--"

She gives herself another shake, trying to pull it together, tensing up even more subconsciously.]

I... I suppose you have a point...

[hageshii]

[He sets an arm on her shoulder, noting that she isn't looking too good right now. That shaking isn't good.]

Oi, Litchi. What's wrong?

I-it's nothing. Just a little dizzy is all. [It's times like this she wishes she was a better liar. She's used this excuse so many times, but he's still bound to see right through her.]

...I think I just need some rest.

[hageshii]

Doctor Litchi, needing to rest after an earthquake? I ain't buying it. Normally you'd be pushing yourself to the grave. [More firmly now, less flippant than he has been up to now.] What's wrong? What happened back in your world?

[She glances over at him, trying to figure out just how much to tell him. There's no way he would be as understanding about it as David. It would just be more of the same that she always heard from Kokonoe, wouldn't it? "Don't be stupid."

But he's her friend; he deserves to know.

Nearly a minute goes by before she ducks her head and answers quietly. Best to go with the truth, even if it's a simplified version.]

The magic power I use has... gotten a little out of control. It started a few days after I got home and hasn't stopped quite yet.

[That's not a whole hell lot to go on, but he gets the implications well enough. Magic was tricky business and he'd seen hers was fairly potent. He'd seen flashier, but a loss of control was dangerous. He merely nods at the end.]

Okay. So is there anyway to fix it?

[not_meatbuns]

[Much as she tries to fight it down, a small shiver runs through her at that.]

...I'm not sure. I know Professor Kokonoe had a way to at least help with it, but I'm not sure about fixing it entirely.

Well, I ain't no wizard myself. But assuming the Mallies get their act together, might have a shot at getting their help.

[And that'll earn another shiver.]

Do you think we could really trust them? After all, this is rooted back in my world, I'm not sure there's all that much they would know about it...
