[After a couple days of absence, Litchi is back from her short trip home. And, as always with her, it's a bath tub that she's landed in. One Yellow Thirteen's bath tub, to be precise. And she's not in the best shape.

Resounding not only through the apartment, but over the journals, is the sound of the tub cracking as if under a tremendous amount of pressure. Litchi lets out a pained whimper, curling into a ball as best she can despite one arm being tangled in the shower curtain.

The Boundary has cut loose. And Litchi is absolutely terrified.

The journal picks up another quiet groan before she falls silent.]

["You haven't exactly got the best judgment--" ... "Doc, you really shouldn't be so nice all the time--"

She gives herself another shake, trying to pull it together, tensing up even more subconsciously.]

I... I suppose you have a point...

[He sets an arm on her shoulder, noting that she isn't looking too good right now. That shaking isn't good.]

Oi, Litchi. What's wrong?

I-it's nothing. Just a little dizzy is all. [It's times like this she wishes she was a better liar. She's used this excuse so many times, but he's still bound to see right through her.]

...I think I just need some rest.

Doctor Litchi, needing to rest after an earthquake? I ain't buying it. Normally you'd be pushing yourself to the grave. [More firmly now, less flippant than he has been up to now.] What's wrong? What happened back in your world?

[She glances over at him, trying to figure out just how much to tell him. There's no way he would be as understanding about it as David. It would just be more of the same that she always heard from Kokonoe, wouldn't it? "Don't be stupid."

But he's her friend; he deserves to know.

Nearly a minute goes by before she ducks her head and answers quietly. Best to go with the truth, even if it's a simplified version.]

The magic power I use has... gotten a little out of control. It started a few days after I got home and hasn't stopped quite yet.

[That's not a whole hell lot to go on, but he gets the implications well enough. Magic was tricky business and he'd seen hers was fairly potent. He'd seen flashier, but a loss of control was dangerous. He merely nods at the end.]

Okay. So is there anyway to fix it?

[not_meatbuns]

[Much as she tries to fight it down, a small shiver runs through her at that.]

...I'm not sure. I know Professor Kokonoe had a way to at least help with it, but I'm not sure about fixing it entirely.

Well, I ain't no wizard myself. But assuming the Mallies get their act together, might have a shot at getting their help.

[And that'll earn another shiver.]

Do you think we could really trust them? After all, this is rooted back in my world, I'm not sure there's all that much they would know about it...

Consider it more of a last ditch effort. It's only idea I've got. Magic really isn't my thing. [Making this a situation he's completely unequipped to deal with.]

[Small smile. The fact that he's even trying to help does make her feel a little better.]

I'll keep it in mind. But I'll also keep doing my best to find a fix for it myself.

[Even though it's been over two years and she still hasn't found a damn thing.]

I take it there's no one else currently here who'd be able to help, hm?

[She looks down at her feet again.]

...No. Not that I know of. The professor was my only hope back home, and since she left...

[He scratches at the back of his neck, pulling his hat off as he does.]

So, this means you've gotta take it easy. That means getting you home, assuming it's still standing.

I hate to say it, but taking it easy won't make much of a difference. It kept happening even when I was just getting some rest back home.

Maybe it won't fix your magic problem, but it'll keep you from getting worse. Now let's get going.

Mr. Goroh... I really appreciate the concern, but you need your rest yourself.

I'm under McCoy's supervision, not you. [Which is why he starts walking out of the barracks. Does she follow or stubbornly remain behind?]

He really isn't going to be happy if you just leave like this...

[She's following. She doesn't approve, but she's following. It's best to keep him out of as much trouble as possible this way.]

It's McCoy. He's never happy. [Outside of the building now. He surveys the devastation, which isn't at all obvious where they're at, and heads north to cut through the woods.]

[Tagging along. She's quite a bit slower than he is on this kind of terrain, though.]

That's hardly a nice thing to say about the man who just patched you up, Mr. Goroh.

Doesn't make it any less true, does it?

[Goroh isn't all that fast himself. His leg might be healed, but it's still a bit sore.]

...Well. I suppose you do have a point.

[She eyes him worriedly.] Are you sure you're well enough for this?

[hageshii]

[He stops and turns to look at her.]

No, actually, I'm not. Any chance you got a light on you? [He filches a cigarette from behind his ear that he had to bend into shape after the quake. He hasn't been able to light it.]
