[It's definitely way too hot for the tastes of someone used to living on a very high mountaintop. Litchi isn't really enjoying this heat wave much at all. So, once she's gotten her work out of the way for the day, she's headed off to the lake in an attempt to cool down. Not that she has any plans on swimming, just relaxing in the shade. Maybe finally finishing that book she's been reading. A nice afternoon to herself; although she's fairly certain there will be plenty of other people who had the same idea as her for beating the heat.

Once she's out at the lake and had a chance to at least slightly cool off, she takes out her journal to ask something she's been meaning to get around to for a while now.]

I think it's about time I got around to learning some magic from the Spirits here. Nala, specifically, if I remember what the guide said correctly. With the way things have been lately, it's becoming more and more obvious that I would be a much better help to the village if I learned some healing magic.

I suppose my question would be: Can anyone with experience contacting Nala let me know what to expect and how to make contact? Or any Spirit, for that matter. I'm afraid this is all new to me still.

Things have been going pretty well. A little hectic since an old friend moved in, but still just fine. How have you been?

It's all right. I just prefer to be on the same level with folks, if you get my meaning.

This friend just show up, or just moved from someplace else here?

I'm doing all right. The roof garden is coming along all right. Wishing for an ocean right about now, though.

Well, she arrived a few weeks ago, but... I suppose you could just say there's never a dull moment with her around. [Either one of her roomies, really. There's a reason Litchi doesn't get nearly enough sleep.]

This heat really is brutal, isn't it? An ocean would be nice for a vacation right about now.

Yeah, it's pretty warm out. Makes me want to go surfing.

Ever since I was a kid. Grew up on the coastline.

Really? That sounds wonderful. I've lived in the mountains almost my entire life, so the largest body of water I've ever had a chance to swim in was just a lake.

It was nice, that's for sure...well, except for the mudslides, flash fire season, and earthquakes. But there's always a price, right?

What kind of mountains?

Sounds like... quite an interesting environment to grow up in, that's for sure.

[She laughs lightly.] It's just a very tall mountain range. Most cities are in very high elevation areas where I come from.

It's not as bad as it sounds, usually. But when Ma Nature blows a gasket, it's pretty impressive.

Well, I mean, do you have trees? Is it plainslands? Or is it mostly rock and snow or something? 'Tall mountain' covers a lot.

It certainly sounds that way.

Oh, I'm sorry. It's mostly rock and snow, what's exposed, though we have some trees and more grass towards the lower levels of the city. There's more snow in the upper layers.

Sounds pretty neat...and yeah, like that's a real tall mountain.
